'The Secret History'
by Donna Tartt
Genre: Psychological Fiction, Mystery, ThrillerMy rate: 9/10
Review:
The Secret History is an intense and haunting novel that explores the dark side of intellect, obsession, and morality. The story follows a group of elite college students studying Ancient Greek under an eccentric professor. As they push the boundaries of their studies and relationships, they become entangled in a web of secrets, guilt, and tragedy. I was completely drawn into the world Donna Tartt created — her writing is elegant, immersive, and deeply psychological. Every character feels complex and flawed, and the story unfolds like a slow-burning mystery, keeping you captivated until the end.
Why I gave it 9/10:
I loved the atmosphere and the philosophical themes — the blend of beauty, intellect, and decay is mesmerizing. The only reason I didn’t give it a perfect score is because some parts felt heavy and slow-paced, but overall it’s a brilliant and unforgettable novel
